Types of Offers
Comcast has some alright offers if you're in an area where that's all you can get, which is a lot of places. Comcast currently has their mid-grade package that gets you 170 channels and encore for $39.99 for 6 months. Just be sure not to bundle because they will charge an additional $10 for adding a second or third service.
Channels
Comcast keeps it pretty simple when it comes to channels. Their top package without all of the movie channels offers 170 channels. You get all of the main programming with this package. If it's channels you're looking for it's competitors ATT U Verse and Verizon Cable have at least 385 channels in their top package. Verizon has 385 channels for the same price as Comcast!
HD/DVR Costs and Features
The HD/DVR service with Comcast has one of the steepest prices. They also, like Verizon, charge based on a “per box” scenario. The fee for each HD/DVR is $23.95 per month plus a $40 install fee which every other company waives.
Contract
One good thing about Comcast is that you can get the services with no contract. That makes a good deal when you're bundling Comcast wireless internet and Comcast phone service together. Just remember the extra $10 fee they charge for bundling.
Installation
Comcast's installation is the least invasive aside from ATT U Verse of all the companies.
Reliability
Because Comcast TV is cable, it's going to be more reliable than satellite. There are still variables, such as theft from a neighbor, or poor installation can cause disruptions. But overall, it's going to be more reliable. Comcast will also credit you back your money if you're ever down which is always a good thing!
