Another successful home based business tip is to always be honest. No one likes a shiester. If you have a customer, or a potential recruit who asks you a question and you don't know. Tell them, "That's a good question. I don't have the answer to that but... (if it's a customer say...) I'll find out ASAP for you! (if it's a potential recruit say...) you can call headquarters and they'll be able to answer any question you have better than I can." The reason for the two different responses is that being honest to a customer like that gains trust. They no longer see you as a salesperson, but someone who is genuinely concerned about their problem. This will result in a loyal customer who will bring referrals! The different response to a potential recruit says several things to them. 1. You don't have to know everything to do the business. Many times a lot of people try to learn everything before they actually start doing the business. 2. You won't hold their hand like a baby. I hear many people say they would do that, but you don't want to. If someone is starting a home business they need to at least have the trait of initiative. Do not do simple things for your downline that they are capable of doing themselves. You're there to teach and to coach. Not babysit. 3. That you're honest! You won't lie to make yourself seem like a know-it-all; and to a good recruit, that will be greatly appreciated.
